case study / design system
Creating the visual and interaction foundations that let Appsmith’s editor grow without losing coherence.

Internal-tool building includes dense interfaces, many states, and a wide range of components. Small inconsistencies multiply quickly.
The system needed to support complexity while preserving a quiet, usable interface.
I established reusable rules for hierarchy, spacing, feedback, and interactive controls, then applied them to the components people use most often.
The result is a kit that supports both speed in delivery and care in the details.

Shared patterns give the product a stronger visual rhythm and make new editor work easier to design and implement.
The system provides a durable base for the next set of product decisions.
